Job Description

Maintain a safe and clean environment in assigned KANA facilities by performing the following duties.


Full-time / eligible for full fringe benefits

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide janitorial services as assigned for spaces that may include offices, exam rooms, conference rooms, restrooms, and public areas by routinely removing trash or debris, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, wiping handrails and door knobs, and cleaning windows. This may include driving to multiple sites throughout the workday. This position is to supplement night time daily cleaning janitorial and is to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout each day.

Remove trash and recycling/shred from assigned locations on a recurring basis.

Ensure covered entryways and covered sidewalks are clean and clear of debris, sweeping and removing trash as needed.

Regularly spot-check KANA lobbies and public areas and entrance doors, cleaning/disinfecting and tidying up as needed. Monitor facilities to ensure a safe environment and report any safety concerns.

Clean clinic exam rooms that have been placed under isolation by washing and disinfecting all surfaces including walls, windows, blinds, exam table, floors, etc.

Clean surfaces that have been exposed to infectious materials or potentially infectious substances, such as blood or body fluids, and collect and dispose of biohazard material. Must attend and stay current with biohazard training.

Complete cleaning tasks using appropriate methods, equipment, and chemicals. Follow aseptic and isolation cleaning techniques when necessary by wearing personal protective equipment and using appropriate antiseptic detergents according to established procedures.

Stock inventory in all assigned janitor closets from warehouse stock, and notify when levels are getting low in ware house for re-ordering.

Greet visitors, staff, and others in a professional courteous manner, and direct visitors as appropriate.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six-months related experience preferred in a healthcare facility.
Driver's License for the past three consecutive years with acceptable driving record.
