Assists medical staff in providing high-quality patient care in the KANA Medical Clinic.

Certified Medical Assistant

Full-time/ eligible for full fringe benefits

Located in Kodiak, Alaska

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.

Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.

Prepares patients and assists medical providers with routing and specialty examinations.

Hands instruments and materials to medical provider as directed.

Cleans and sterilizes instruments.

Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.

Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls other medical facility to schedule patients for tests.

Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.

Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of CMA program required for certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Intermediate knowledge of Database and Internet software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current Certified Medical Assistant certification, BLS and CPR
